Clan face Stars in season warm-up

The Glasgow Clan, sponsored by Aspray Glasgow West, will take on Dundee Stars in a King’s Inch Cup match which will serve as a pre-season warm-up.

The game will take place on Wednesday 3rd November, with a face off set for 7.30pm as the new-look team, under new coach Malcolm Cameron, will play together for the first time.

It will also be the first ice hockey game to be held at Braehead Arena since the end of February 2020, just prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

The news will serve as a bonus to fans, who will now get to see their team three days earlier than expected as they renew acquaintances with their Scottish rivals.

Clan’s Chief Operating Officer Gareth Chalmers is delighted to get the game and thanked his counterpart, Omar Pacha, for agreeing to the fixture.

“I’m delighted we are able to get this extra game arranged I want to extend my thanks to Omar Pacha and Dundee Stars for take up our offer of the game,” he said.

“Dundee will be well into their campaign by the time this meeting comes along so for them to come to Glasgow and help us out is massively appreciated.

“It means our season starts a little earlier and makes the wait that little bit shorter for the fans desperate to return and see the team.

“We’re excited it’s going to happen and there’s light at the end of the tunnel in terms of us returning to action.”

Ticket and information regarding the game will be released in due course.
