Ed Chamberlain Joins Leigh Centurions


Leigh Centurions are delighted to announce the signing of utility back, Ed Chamberlain.

Ed is 25 years old, born in Warrington and an Irish International. He can play either full back, wing or centre and is also a useful goalkicker.

On signing for Leigh Centurions Ed said, “Delighted to be joining Leigh Centurions at this time and hopefully helping them towards their goal of regaining their Super League status. I have played here and know the atmosphere is great and can’t wait to get involved with my new team mates.”

Ed made his debut in professional rugby league as a teenager for Widnes in 2015 and played 22 games for the Vikings before having loan spells at Whitehaven, Workington, Bradford Bulls and Salford Red Devils. Whilst playing for Salford Ed was offered a contract and played 15 times, scoring 6 tries and kicking 46 goals. His last two seasons have been on loan at London Broncos. In all, Ed has played 88 games in his professional career and amassed over 300 points.

Head of Rugby Chris Chester said, “ Great utility back who is a strong player and also a competent goal kicker. He makes good yardage and is a good defender who will I am sure fit in perfectly with our plans.”
