Meyers appointed U20s assistant coach

Danny Meyers has been appointed as a new assistant coach for Great Britain Under-20s.

The former GB international, who made 59 appearances for this country, won a bronze medal with GB in 2009 and silver in 2011.

He will work alongside under-20s current head coach Martin Grubb and fellow assistant Dayle Keen.

Meyers, who is currently a coach in the Guildford junior programme, said: "It’s a huge honour to be involved with the Great Britain programme again.

"My thanks goes to everyone at the GB organisation for the opportunity. I’m excited to work with this very talented age group and the excellent coaching staff.

"With our senior team in Pool A, it’s important that we develop the next generation to help keep GB at the highest level for years to come."

David Hand, chairman of the Great Britain Programme Board, said: "Danny was a fantastic player for GB and he's a great addition to the under-20s coaching staff.

"I think we have a terrific coaching team now of Martin Grubb, Dayle Keen and Danny - and I believe they are a trio that can work very well together.

"We have some exciting young prospects in the GB programme and I think this trio of coaches are the right ones to bring the best out of our young talent.”
