Glasgow Clan 3 - 2 Dundee Stars

Travis Ehrhardt's blue line blast in the second period proved to be enough as Glasgow Clan beat Dundee Stars for the first time this season in a thrilling 3-2 contest.

It was a closely fought affair against a team who had Clan's number in the three previous meetings, but three goals in the space of 87 seconds turned the game in Clan's favour, completing a three point week.

It wasn't the best of starts for the Clan, who went behind in the opening period when Justin Maylan's pass left Matt Pufahl beaten as Kevin Dufour found himself through and delivered the finish past Patrick Killeen.

While it was only a goal advantage, Stars certainly looked the better team and the first break gave Zack Fitzgerald the chance to regroup his team.

The three-goal burst in the second period was just the thing needed to turn the game in the home side's favour.

Jordan Heywood was first to get his name on the scoresheet with a chance Alex Leclerc in the Dundee goal will have felt he should have held as it got away from him and the Clan man was there to tuck it home.

Glasgow turned the deficit into a lead 19 seconds later as Mikael Lidhammar was sprung in the Stars zone and he drifted his way in before delivering a low one under Leclerc.

Then Ehrhardt was in a central position to drive in a rasping shot that left Dundee's goalie well beaten and the Clan now enjoying a 3-1 lead.

Stars immediately called the timeout to get to the bottom of the sudden collapse in their ranks, but found their composure and the game became an exciting one.

Colton Kroeker's tip in from Dufour with minutes to go teed up a nervy end to the game as Stars looked to get something.

Leclerc was pulled as Stars bombarded the Clan's defensive zone, but in the end, Glasgow held on for victory and finally ended Stars' four-game winning run, stretching back to the conclusion of last season.
