Four more check in for the Clan

Aspray Glasgow West sponsored Glasgow Clan are pleased to announce the arrival of four more non-homegrown players into Scotland.

Mathieu Roy arrived from London, Mikko Vainonen flew in via Edinburgh while Dyson Stevenson and Cody Sol flew into Glasgow from North America this morning.

And every one of them are glad to be in the UK ahead of the new Elite League for the Clan, which is just a matter of a couple of weeks away.

“It’s great to be back,” said Roy, who will be player-assistant coach to Malcolm Cameron this season.

“I love playing in the UK and after everything that’s happened with the pandemic, it feels great to be coming back to a place that I loved the last time I was here.”

Vainonen added: “It’s wonderful to finally get to Scotland and now I can concentrate on getting ready for the new season.

“Getting on the plane and flying over has been a long time coming and I can’t wait to get settled in and start the new phase in my career.”

The quartet’s arrival now makes it five of the non-homegrown players signed who have made it over to Scotland, with more to come in the next few days.

Dyson Stevenson was the last player to be announced and his excitement at coming to the Clan remains high.

“It’s fantastic to be here at last,” he said. “Ever since I agreed to come, I’ve been counting the days to get on the flight and I’m finally here.

“I’ve been talking to some of the other guys and it’ll be great to get together and start making an impact on the league this year.”

Cody Sol added: “Like the other guys, I’m finally excited to be in Glasgow after a long anticipated time.

“The goodbyes to the family never get any easier, even at the age of 30, but I’m excited to get over to Scotland and get to play at last.”
