Defenceman Matt Pufahl signs for the Clan


The Glasgow Clan are delighted to announce the signing of Canadian defenceman Matt Pufahl for the 2019/20 season.

The 25-year-old joins from HKM Zvolen in Slovakia where he spend the majority of last season.

The Saskatoon native has spent the previous four season's at Acadia University where he was twice nominated to the USports All-Star Team.

During his time with the Clan, Pufahl will carry out an MBA with the club's further education partners, Glasgow Caledonian University.

Clan head coach Zack Fitzgerald is delighted to add the 6' 2" defenceman to his line-up:

"Pufahl is a solid skating defenceman who plays both end of the ice very well" confirmed Fitzgerald.

"He can be relied on defensively, he helps move the game up the ice quickly with his passing and has great offensive instincts.

"He comes with a solid reputation from our connections in North America.

"I spoke at length with him and he is excited to be heading to Glasgow, I am looking forward to working with him during the upcoming year."

Pufahl will wear #44 during the 2019/20 season.

Pufahl becomes the Clan's eleventh player for 2019/20, following confirmation that Patrick Kileen, Matt Beca, Rasmus Bjerrum, Jack Musil, Craig Peacock, Scott Pitt, Scott Tanski, Craig Moore, Linden Springer and Matt Stanisz having already put pen to paper.
