Western Australia men's squad announcements

Western Australia have announced their squads for their 2021-22 Marsh One-Day Cup and Marsh Sheffield Shield fixtures against South Australia at Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide.

The domestic season will officially begin tomorrow when a star-stacked WA team takes the field in a Marsh One-Day Cup match against South Australia.

WA have named a talent-laden squad for the season opener, with nine of the 13 players selected boasting international experience

When the sides last met in one-day cricket Cameron Green (144) produced his maiden List A century in a brilliant 156-run stand with Shaun Marsh (113) to secure victory for WA at the WACA Ground.

Ashton Agar, Jason Behrendorff, Mitch Marsh, D’Arcy Short, Ashton Turner and Andrew Tye will all return to Perth following the Marsh Cup fixture.

The uncapped Corey Rocchiccioli is vying for a First-Class debut after being included in the Shield squad alongside quick Jhye Richardson, who hasn’t played a four-day game for WA since November 2019.

After spending the winter playing cricket in the UK, wicketkeeper Josh Inglis hit the ground running in his return to the WA program with a century in an intra-squad practice match last week.

Inglis spoke to media before the team departed for Adelaide and said he was excited for the season to get underway.

“Everyone’s been training incredibly hard and we can’t wait to get to Adelaide for the first round of fixtures,” Inglis said.

“There is plenty of talent in our squad and we believe we can go a long way this year in both competitions.”
