Six Ashes players picked by NSW Blues

The Blues have selected all six NSW players from the recent Ashes tour for the Marsh One-Day Cup match against Tasmania at North Sydney Oval on Wednesday.

Steve Smith, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon will all line up together.

Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood will both play their first game for the Blues this season after resting following an arduous Ashes tour.

Smith, Warner, Starc and Lyon are coming off an eight-wicket victory over Tasmania in a Marsh Sheffield Shield match which ended on Monday.

Starc was outstanding, claiming match figures of 10-60 from 44 overs, his best match return for the Blues in a Shield match, while Smith scored a century.

Warner made a century in the opening Shield match against Queensland at the Gabba, which the Blues won by five wickets.

Cummins, Smith, Starc and Warner will fly to Adelaide on Thursday to join Australia’s Twenty20 International squad, which plays its first match against Sri Lanka on Sunday.

After a slow start to the Marsh One-Day Cup the Blues won their last match, against Western Australia, thanks to a score of 152 from opening batsman Daniel Hughes, his second successive century of the tournament.

Hughes has five centuries in 24 one-day matches for the Blues and averages 58.95.
