Hosein signs new deal with Derbyshire

Harvey Hosein has signed a new two-year deal with Derbyshire, keeping him at
The Pattonair County Ground until the end of the 2022 season.

A graduate of the Cricket Derbyshire Academy in partnership with the University of Derby, Hosein
has been with the club for over a decade, coming through the ranks to become a key member in
the first team squad.

The 2019 season was the 23-year-old’s best to date, as he struck five half-centuries and averaged
28.09 in the County Championship, while he also claimed 40 catches throughout 2019.

Since making his debut in 2014, Hosein has scored 2,042 first-class runs at an average of 30.93,
including 14 half-centuries and two centuries.

Head of Cricket, Dave Houghton, said: “Harvey took the responsibility of being first-choice
wicketkeeper in four day cricket last season really well and he showed great maturity.

“He has done well and his potential is clear to see, we are excited to see his continued
development in the next three years.”

Hosein added: “It was a huge confidence boost to be given the gloves last season, and the
opportunity really gave me some good experience.
“I’m really looking forward to showing what I can do in the next three years and hopefully helping
the side to success in the near future.”
