Bill McMorris wins the $5000 Texas Super Stakes


The Blue Ribbon Winter Festival got the new horse show year off to a good start at the Extraco Event Center last week in Waco, TX.

On Friday the $5000 Texas Super Stake took place and Bill McMorris took the top spot with RVF Titus owned by Rio Vista Farm. Second went to Susan McMorris on Santino owned by Andrea Adams and third was Biloxi owned by Jana Rodes and ridden by Trina Green.

Later in the day the $2500 USHJA National Hunter Derby was held and after the two rounds, Avery Erickson received the blue on Soho owned by Jane Gilday. The red ribbon went to Evano S owned by Beverly Marksbury and ridden by Brooke Brombach and third went to Trina Green on Jana Rodes' Biloxi.

Also on Friday the jumper ring featured the $5000 Frostbite Jumper Classic and Gianna Aycock took home the blue with her horse Flex A Tia. Colby Coltrain took second on MTM Zig Zag owned by MTM Farm and third went to Chacco Lait owned and ridden by Avery Erickson.

Saturday's feature event was the $10,000 Winter Festival Jumper Classic and taking the win with the only clean round was Quicksilver owned and ridden by Katherine Huffstutler. Second went to Torrance owned and ridden by Trina Green and third went to Flex A Tia and Gianna Aycock.

The most exciting ride of the week went to Glendonwyn Prince of Thieves and Sarahjoy Crain Mount who showed bridle less in the .85M jumpers.
