Clan confirm departure of four players
The Glasgow Clan would like to thank Joel Rumpel, Michal Gutwald, Vaclav Stupka and Zach Sullivan following their departures from the club.
Netminder Rumpel, 28, joined the Clan last summer from the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies and went on to play 71 games between the pipes for the Clan, with an 90.0% save percentage.
Forward Stupka, 32, signed for the Clan as a replacement for Liam Heelis back in September. The Slovakian scored 19 goals and assisted on 31 others during 72 games in Glasgow.
Defenceman Gutwald, 25, turned out to be the only returning import following the 2017/18 season. The Czech national scored 9 goals and assisted on 17 others in 109 games with the Clan.
Clan Head Coach Pete Russell commented: "I would like to thank Joel, Michal, Vaclav and Zach for everything they have done here on and off the ice.
"It's never easy making these decisions, but I have to look to do what I believe is best for the club as we attempt to make our group of players stronger."
British defenceman Sullivan, 24, departs the club after five years having originally joined from the EPL's Basingstoke Bison back in 2014.
Sullivan went on to play 260 games, during which time he won two Young British Defenceman of the Year Awards and four EIHL Gardiner Conference titles.
Clan Chief Operating Officer Gareth Chalmers paid tribute to the departing Sullivan: "Zach joined us as a 19-year-old back in 2014 and went on to be the second longest serving player here.
"I would like to thank Zach for the past five season's with the club, he is very highly regarded here and has played a major part in a number of memorable achievements at the Clan.
"We wish Joel, Michal, Vaclav and Zach all the very best in their future careers."
