Mascarenhas leaves Essex County Cricket

Essex County Cricket Club can today confirm that Assistant Head Coach and bowling lead, Dimitri Mascarenhas has left the Club following the conclusion of his contract.

The former England & Hampshire all-rounder joined the Essex ranks in March of this year but has opted not to renew his contract for the forthcoming season.

Anthony McGrath said of the departure “we are of course disappointed that Dimi won’t be in the Essex changing room in 2019.

“Dimi is a highly respected individual and sought-after coach with global experience and can bring a wealth of knowledge to any team.

“However, Dimi’s departure allows the Club and myself to re-evaluate the coaching set-up and our attention will now switch to appointing a new Assistant Head Coach who will complement our aims and objectives.”

Essex County Cricket Club would like to place on record our thanks to Dimitri for his hard work during the 2018 season and wish to invite applications for the Assistant Head Coach vacancy via the Club website.
