Coleman appointed Assistant Coach

Former Queensland cricketer Jude Coleman has been appointed Assistant Coach of the Statewide Super SA Scorpions and Adelaide Strikers in the rebel WBBL.

Coleman, 38, has been working as Queensland Cricket’s State Talent and Pathways Manager and earlier this year was an assistant coach with the Australian under 19 women’s team.

A medium-pace bowler, Coleman took 84 wickets in 60 Women’s National Cricket League games for her State and was also a star indoor cricketer, captaining the Australian side between 2005 until 2017 and leading her country to multiple World Cup titles.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work with the teams and can’t wait be a part of what will hopefully be a very successful season,” said Coleman, who will start her new role later next month.

SACA General Manager, High Performance Tim Nielsen said:

“We’re thrilled to have Jude joining us at SACA and we know she will have a lot to offer to our playing group.

“She’s had extensive experience playing State cricket and having someone join us from outside of South Australia is sure to bring a fresh perspective.”
